Has anyone had any success with a PIP appeal for ADHD?

Hello,

My partner who has ADHD was denied PIP.
If anyone here has ADHD then you will understand that it has an effect on almost all aspects of life.
Because he can hyper focus on things and gets very easily distracted he needs a lot of prompting to cook, wash and dress, make budgeting decisions, taking medication without an app to remind him and to also go on journeys without someone being with him.
On each descriptor where I personally believe he should have received 2 points, the HP has said that ADHD was considered as a reason for prompting, but because he can drive which has a complex set of cognitive abilities and was able to recall his medical history then he has the adequate memory to not need any prompting to wash, wear clean clothes, need an aid to take medication or make budgeting decisions.
I do understand why they would say this about driving, but he only goes in the car twice a week, 3 times at the most and this is only out of necessity rather than wanting to, as he hates driving.
Has this happened to anyone else? Do all people who receive PIP just not drive? We are going to ask for an MR but I just wanted to know if there are people out there who have faced this and won?

Welcome to the community @TrueBlue22 :) How are you doing today?

Thank you for posting about the situation that you and your partner are in. This isn't a situation I've been through myself, but I'm sure that other members will have been in a similar situation.

You can drive while claiming PIP, but I can see why you might question that after this experience!

I have combined ADHD, as well as anxiety and a speech impediment. I was awarded enhanced PIP this year, but only after a nightmare of various assessments to reach a decision (varying from my final scoring which I got twice, 1 zero all round and 1 with just 2 points for budgeting). The majority of my points come from ADHD issues with daily living (I’d say 75%) with probably my mobility scoring being more around my anxiety (so 50/50 there!).

if you have evidence even if just your in depth descriptions and support from others such as your self, it can be done. I sent my psychiatrist letters etc also.
