Staff referral manual for DLA and AA seems to be the same as for PIP. What are your thoughts?

Have a claim for pip
and had phone assessment await results
been searching online and found a
staff referral manual with lists of medical conditions and guidance for decision makers on what outcome should be based on common symptoms with many conditions
says it’s for DLA an AA
when I search exact thing but for pip
it goes to same guidance
has anyone else seen this and what are thoughts on this and pip
thank you

Thank you
Yes I did wonder if it may not be relevant
just seems strange as is dla not point based on symptoms same as pip ?
seeing as it was dla replacement
too
Just found myself thinking there must be guidance for all decision makers somewhere
I have chronic heart failure
and this would not differ
if I was claiming for dla
everyone needs to have a fair assessment
thank you again

DLA wasn't based on points. It was based on day/night time care needs. There is a decision makers guide but it's extremely long. You can see everything here. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/decision-makers-guide-vol-1-decision-making-and-appeals-staff-guide

But on the Government website they state it is based on .....please see 1.1.1woodbine said:PIP in some ways is different to DLA, the thing to remember about PIP is that it is not awarded for an illness/condition but for care and/or mobility issues you have.0 -

Which is very misleading because it's not awarded based on any of those conditions.

This is why there are a lot of claimant's who are confused about what the criteria is.poppy123456 said:ChiChi said:

Yes I’m one who is confused
DLA in the manual for decision makers states chronic heart failure
life time award
goes on to state all the obstacles that are faced with people
And how it affects you
So my thoughts were they no how by reading there manual how conditions affect applicants so must no how we describe our obstacles as fact
I could be being to black and white Lol0 -
DLA and AA are massively different benefits to PIP. Please do not read that guide again, it’s no longer properly used anymore anyway and as for children an award long-term would take them to their 17th birthday (the extra year to give PIP time to make a decision although if you’re awarded before this or do not comply then it ends straightaway after they’ve wrote to the child about PIP).
As for the screenshot above, it is very misleading. If you read the other official guides you will see this too.0 -

With the exception of Scotland where DLA is for those up to the age of 18. Once they reach this age they will be transferred to Adult Disability Payment (ADP) https://www.gov.scot/news/16-year-olds-will-no-longer-need-to-apply-for-pip-in-scotland/

I’m completely out of my depth with all this and was simply looking for some answers by reading the manual
I really don’t need to be told what I can and can’t read
and info regards children is off my topic
I will be removing myself from this site
thanks0 -
Why is the information about children off topic? You were asking why the guide you were reading doesn’t refer to PIP but you were reading about DLA and AA. They are completely different benefits to PIP.Headcook said:and info regards children is off my topicDLA only exists children. You asked what people’s thoughts were and they have you their thoughts.1
