Had a call from pip today
Lady was really excited to tell me that after my video assesment i was entitled to standard rate daily and mobility and it would be back dated to when i first claimed. I asked how i had only got that she did start to tell me that i had scored some points but it seems i was down graded for some things as i used a hand rail in my bathroom to get off the toilet so she says i can grip things. Also i can dress and undress wearing loose clothing.
Even though my wife has to pull off my tops jumpers as i can't do it myself. Thats when i bother to get dressed all of this was told to the assesser. She did say i was in constant pain and relied on my wifes help.Seems they make an assumption with out actually knowing. I won't know until i get the report which i asked for . The lady on the phone seemed shocked that i was not happy. I am i just dont like lies and assumptions.
Just want to know if when i have the facts its worth the appeal i have read they could take tha award off me and i dont wang that.
Can any one give me some advice

Once you have the decision letter you can request a Mandatory Reconsideration. If that results in no change (most don’t) you can appeal to the tribunal service.

Hi calcotti
Thanks for the reply. Will read through the letter and the assesment report when i get it.
Im glad i got something but it seems according to the phone call i got marked down because i use a hand rail to get off the toliet the assesser seems to think i must have good grip so can cook safely wash and dress myself even if in constant pain. I just feel thats just a poor assumption.
The only issue i have is that I've read they can if you appeal take the award off . I don't really want to loose what ive been given even if i feel its wrong
Thanks again0 -
If you haven’t had the decision letter yet then you won’t know where you scored the points. You may have scored points in the activities you mentioned.0

Now had my letter and i scored 11 for daily living and 10 for mobility. I seem to have been penalised for having to use a hand rail to get off the toliet assesser has said that as i can use a hand rail to get up and use a mobile phone i can get undressed even though i did tell them my wife has to pull off my tea shirt/ jumper as i cant manage it. After reading horror stories of how most poeple dont get it i am greatfull of the award and wokld not appeal but at the end ge assesser gives there observations of the video call and ghey say i was dressed . Not suffering from malnutrition showed no sign of pain while on the call and managed the call on my own . Firstly i could not manage to get dressed and took the call in my dressing gown only and had my grand daughter sitting in the corner of hhe room to keep me relaxed .at the end of the call i struggled to move and when they asked i pointed out that i had brn siiting in on place too long and was in agony. She told me to take care. There was quite a few issues with the end observations. If i was to ask them to relook at my case does anyone know if they can/ would possably stop thd award. I really dont know what to do
Thanks for any help

The most likely outcome of the MR will be the decision remains the same because only 27% of decisions change at this stage. However, it has been known for some people to lose points and even gain points at this stage. Your exisiting award will continue while you wait for the decision. Before doing anything else i'd advise you to get some expert advice from an agency near you to check it's possible to score more points for a higher award.
