Hi, my name is Tallulah50! Question about PIP review

Hi I have a question about my recent review. I received PIP at the lower daily living rate but nothing for mobility. The issue was arthritis in my knees which affected me in both my daily life and mobility but surprisingly I never got anything awarded for mobility as I could walk further than 200 metres even though it was incredibly painful to do so.
Over the past year my mobility has got much worse. I've also developed arthritis in my hip, hands and also have a blockage in the artery in one of my legs which means it cramps up after walking 20 meters or so. I was advised by a family member to have my pip claim reviewed as they were stunned that I got no help with my mobility issues.
I sent off the forms around May time, got a text on 5th July to say they had received the forms and had a video assessment on 5th October which lasted nearly 2 hours. I got a text the day after to say that DWP had received my report and that it would take up to 6 weeks for them to make a decision so I'm still waiting for that.
My question is that I work and wondered if that would go against me even though I get dropped off at the front door of my workplace, and use aids to help me get round the building, taking alot of rest stops along the way. Also is it more likely that I will get the mobility component as it was me that asked for the review not the DWP? I need alot of help and support from my family in order to give the outside world the appearance that I can manage things that in reality are a real struggle for me and I also take alot of medication that I need in order to complete tasks that others would find easy. Basically I struggle every day and although I have a job, my home life is quite different. I've also had alot of time off from my job over the past year due to my health issues so will this be taken into consideration during my review.
Sorry for all the questions, just very very anxious that it's now at the decision stage of my review.

People do claim PIP and work but if the work you do contradicts the reasons why you're claiming PIP then it can go against you.
That will make no difference to the outcome at all. Once the report was returned to DWP a decision can take between 2-12 weeks. Once it's made if you're not happy then you can challenge that by first requesting the Mandatory Reconsideration.Tallulah50 said:Also is it more likely that I will get the mobility component as it was me that asked for the review not the DWP?If successfully awarded and it's a higher award then you'll be owed money from the date you rang to report the changes. If the award is the same then it will just continue as normal, with an extended award. If refused your PIP will completely stop.0 -
Thank you. My work is sitting at a desk so no moving about. They asked questions about my workplace and I explained that I have risk assessments in place due to my mobility issues and that I'm able to move slowly from the entrance to my workstation, taking rests in between as I work in a centre for disabled young people so it's got alot of facilities to make it easily accessible. I did state I wouldn't be able to be in a workplace that wasn't as well facilitated.poppy123456 said:People do claim PIP and work but if the work you do contradicts the reasons why you're claiming PIP then it can go against you.
