I'm sorry to hear that the assessment has made you feel more anxious @jascof. Many people have a similar experience, unfortunately.

Questions that can seem unrelated are sometimes asked because they indicate other things, if that makes sense. We've heard from other members that these kinds of questions can make them feel as though the assessor is trying to trip them up, though, which is understandable.

Will you be able to do anything to help you relax and take your mind off of it this afternoon? Well done for getting through it :)

I know it's much easier said than done, but try to take your mind off of it if you can @jascof. Is there an activity you could do to keep your brain occupied, such as a puzzle, reading, or watching TV? The coffee lounge is here if you'd like to chat about something unrelated, too :)

Hi @jascof it's done now and a lot of us can associate with how your feeling but you have got to try and put it to the back of your brain and wait for the out come.
As Tori says if it's a help join us in the coffee lounge, it might help take your mind of it all.
It will only make you angry, frustrated etc if you keep going over it in your head.

hi i had my results from my assesment which i had already contacted the dwp about saying the assesor kept shutting me down, stopping my explanations of living etc,i have a long term deteriorating condition that has and is slowly getting worse, they have decided that i will loose over £200 pm and reading through the forms i can see the assesor literally put what she wanted to say, adding things in that i did not say or did not say how she has put them,i called dwp straight away and have had it referred i think the lady called it,then possibly appeal,,,even though i sat through whole phone call in pain and moving around adjusting my supports etc,one of the things she said was i was calm and seemed very focused !!!!! how can anyone see that in a phone call,my other question was will it effect me esa support group award ? as i am unfit for work due to issues related to my dissabilites,,,,i really dont seee how on a phone call and with all the info they can say i have improved, she also kept asking about a fall clinc ???in all my years of problems (i stumble/fall a lot but it is something i deal/live with, yes she mentioned this a lot of times as if i had nothing wrong with me as i has never heard of a fall clinic,in 38 years of problems a doctor,physio/ot/surgeon  no one has ever mentioned these clinics to me ? she also asked if i drive and i explained if i am absolutely stuck i can go to the local shop that is a mile away but it is a challenge and very painful/shatted afterwards etc,so she puts i can happily jump in car a few times a week to do my shopping ? thought these guys were meant to read all the forms and let you explain everything in full and also be impartial not judgemental

Whether it will affect your ESA will depend on what the decision on the PIP was, you didn't mention what it was. If your ESA includes the SDP then you will need a daily living PIP award for this to continue.

i called explaining the report was nothing like i had explained,so she said it is referred and if i dont get it changed then, the next step is appeal

Then your ESA will remain as it is.

That means you've requested the Mandatory Reconsideration. (MR) I'd advise you to put this request in writing stating where and why you think you should have scored those points. Try and put the assessment report to one side if possible because concentrating on that isn't helpful.

THANKYOU poppy  just so angry,i have had many assesments including face to faces etc,yet this one was weird from the beggining on the phone and she somehow seems to think my condition has improved, even though i reassesed myself due to further ongoing conditions ON TOP of what i already deal with :(

the dwp lady asked me questions and typed why i thought it was wrong, she said it will be looked at and i will get a answer in 4/8 weeks and if i am not happy the next step is the appeal,so i think i have done it the correct way   as she told me it was the way to do it ,SHE  was very helpful and apologetic but said i had to do it this way 1st

Did you previously have Enhanced for both parts?

yes poppy, always had enhanced due to limitations, but this lady really asked very basic things, didnt ask a lot of things and after reading report has not even said some of what i explained

Did you report worsening of condition or was the review started by DWP?
In your other thread here https://forum.scope.org.uk/discussion/96898/nervous-wait#latest you said you requested it over the phone and the person from the call centre typed what you said. I'd advise you to put that request in writing because you don't know what she wrote.
I wonder if mods can combine both your threads because it's very confusing keeping track of 2 threads. @Alex_Scope @Tori_Scope @Cher_Scope

hi review started by dwp,as i had a call for something different and just happened to mention some other conditions i thought nothing of,the lady yesterday read out each points allocation and asked which i disagreed with, then she read them back to me,it was the original assesor that was cutting me off, telling me she didnt need hear this or hear that, the lady yesterday assured me i was doing the right thing by calling in and letting her go through the parts i thought were wrong :)
