I am not OP but just wanted to share my thoughs. I have had PIP assessments in the past and whilst I did get awarded PIP, it seems to be a common occurance that even when someone has genuine difficulties in descriptor areas and appropriate evidence to back this up, the points are still not awarded and/or the report is full of incorrect statements. An example from my personal experience was that I had tried to claim points under the planning and following journeys section, I always have difficulties leaving the house and need somebody to encourage/prompt me to leave the house otherwise I would just sit indoors and not go out and do the things I need to do. I had ample evidence of it including full autism report stating every area of difficulty including this area and still turned down and they stated I had no difficulty with that descriptor area. Another one was the managing money section, had reports stating I had trouble with money and impulsivity yet was not awarded points because I "had a banking app" so they decided that meant I could control myself. Thats just my personal experience with it but I think there are a LOT of other people out there who have been through the process and not been awarded points where they need support and had evidence for. The assessors and decision makers should be held accountable for ignoring needs and evidence from disabled people so thats why I think the process needs to be looked at. hope this helps give an idea of an issue happening at the moment
