Hello
I'm Ben 60, diagnosed ADHD by  Psychiatry UK last year. I have a telephone assessment next week (which I'm dreading) and would be very grateful for any advice tips on how to approach it, thanks very much.

There are quite a few videos on Youtube that run through Telephone Assessments and the preparation you could do.

Welcome to the community @benja :) It's great to have you with us.

Best of luck for your telephone assessment! Make sure that your phone is fully charged, and the ringtone (or however you prefer to be notified) is turned up high. I'd also encourage you to have a drink and snack near you, as the assessment can vary in length.

Did you keep a copy of your application forms? If so, you might want to give that a read over before the assessment, to remind yourself of what you put, and the examples you gave.

Either way, some people find it helpful to have a couple of notes with them, of things they want to remember to mention.

During the call, it's important to remember that you can ask them to repeat or reword a question if you haven't understood it, and that you can ask to take a breather if you need to.

You can also have someone sit with you during the call, if that's something you'd find comforting.
