Question about LCWRA and Carers allowance

Hi, recently  I have been awarded LCWRA and I'm pretty sure I don't receive anything extra because I'm in a joint claim with my wife and she already receives that element.

 I am on PIP standard daily living component and my wife cares for me and helps me out alot, is she entitled to claim carer's allowance? And if so would it get deducted from our universal credit and if so how much.

    You are correct that 2 LCWRA elements can’t be paid at the same time.

    There’s no financial gain to claiming carers allowance and UC because it’s just deducted in full from any UC entitlement.

    As you’ve also been found to have LCWRA then you can receive this element for yourself and your wife can then claim carers element of UC for looking after you. She will need to report a change of circumstances and tell them she’s caring for you.
