Hi there,
I am mainly looking for some advice on finding work. I am a disabled person who has dwarfism and bad arthritis in my hip, which prevents me from walking far.
Currently I am working for myself as a self employed web designer, I really don't get that much work to cover disabled tax credits, so I am looking for a part-time job too. I am worried over a few things... If I find work, am I able to get transport help to and from the workplace because I don't drive.
Also, I am going to call scope and ask for help on Monday, I was just wondering if advisers are able to visit me from my house. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi LittlePhilz,
In regards to getting help with transport once you get a job the best people to speak to are Access to Work. You can find out more information about them here on the Scope site: http://www.scope.org.uk/support/disabled-people/work/access-to-work.
There are lots of job sites which list web design vacancies and several will specify home working if you’re looking to find more work in this area. A Google search should bring up some good results.
Please do give us a ring and we can chat in more details to see if we can help further.
Kind regards,
Scope helpline

Hi LittlePhilz,
My answer doesn't specifically relate to you finding full time work but more about finding more work for yourself. Do you have a great portfolio of work? If so, have you tried using sites like PeoplePerHour and Fiver to get more work? I have worked with people on there in the past and have got good results. As long as you can demonstrate previous examples of good work I think you'll be able to make some money. Of course, remote working would be ideal too. It looks like remote nation could be a good place to start?
Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

Hi LittlePhilz,
There's an employment discussion going on from today for the next couple of weeks, with two advisors who specialise in supporting disabled people.
Please do get involved if you have any other issues relating to work you'd like to discuss:

Thanks
Jen
