Does anybody know where I can either borrow or rent a hand bike in the Teesside area? I'd like to try one for a few days to see if they are suitable for me before I commit to what would be an expensive purchase. I've done an Internet search with no success. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Hi Milo,
Really sorry for the delayed response!

The Attitude website allows you to book a test drive of one of their hand bikes which you can apply for here: http://attitude.sunrisemedical.eu/en and there is also a map on the nation Cycling Charity website which identifies where you can hire adapted cycles: http://www.ctc.org.uk/ride/inclusive-cycling.

If they don't have what you're looking for then you can contact the Disabled Living Foundation, as they are usually the experts when it comes to sourcing disability specific equipment. You can take a look at their website here: www.dlf.org.uk to see if you can find any suppliers or you can call them on their helpline number: 0300 999 0004. Additionally it's also worth talking to independent bike shops as sometimes they can order a bike for you to try with no obligation to buy.
    Kind regards,
