I am trying to help my niece who has a learning disability. She has recently had a baby and had to have 'stitches' after birth. These are dissolvable but I cannot find any easily understandable info to help her understand this and she is convinced that 'they ' have sewn her up?

Hi Lin, have you thought of asking Gill - our Sex and Relationships Advisor - she may have some ideas about how to explain this? It can be so difficult to explain things (my autistic brother broke his leg and had an operation, 10 years on he is convinced 'they' swapped his leg for a new one!) But seriously, I know that it is quite a sensitive issue and agree she needs to understand what has happened

You could post on here: https://community.scope.org.uk/discussion/25376/ask-a-sex-relationships-expert
It's taken me a while to find my way round here too! I don't think there is an option to send private messages to people just yet
