I am apart of a student research team from the University of Dundee. We are working with Police Scotland to investigate the reasons why disability hate crime is heavily under reported. Through research already conducted, communication has been identified as a major barrier. As a result of this, we are looking to highlight and identify the consistent issues with regards to communication with the police.

By communication we are taking in to account all forms, whether that is face to face, online, over the phone or simply physical access to a police station.

Alongside highlighting barriers with communication, we are looking for possible solutions to improve the ways in which the police communicate with disabled people.

All responses will be used purely for research purposes and all help will be greatly appreciated.
