Pip nominated driver

Hi, I'm new here. I have a back injury which keeps me bed bound.
I get enhanced pip and now I need to get a mobility car. Due to my injury and physical health, I will not be driving the car. My brother would be the primary nominated driver. Toyota refused to progress the application any further untill I produce my driving licence, which I've lost. I'm confused how people have nominated drivers yet have to produce a full driving license. It will cost me to replace something I don't need. I physically cannot drive. I have 2 surgeries this year, a full fusion end a upper arm rebuild. I will be completely immobilized. My brother and friend had agreed to help me through these surgeries. Now I'm not going to be able to proceed with these surgeries as I have zero care at the moment. I don't understand why I can't have a nominated driver. The nominated driver took a car on test drive and as we were filling paperwork in, the application couldnt continue until I produce a full driving licence.
Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Why do abled bodied humans put impossible barriers up in front not so abled humans

Is this possibly a misunderstanding, and the drivers license maybe required as proof of identity? I have a car through the Motability scheme with my husband as the named driver as I am not allowed to drive any more. Our application went through without any problems when we used my passport as identity.2

Hi Poggyfloss.
Thanks for replying. Bizarrely I had an envelope with my pip letters and passport. The salesman said the pip recipient must produce a full UK driving licence to proceed. I haven't driven since 2019 since my accident. I physically cannot. But I cannot find the licence. What if someone was completely paralyzed and didn't have a full UK licence, Toyota are saying they also couldn't have a mobility car. My brother and best friend are primary and secondary drivers. They have full clean licences. I'm really confused. Can mobility the charity that funds a mobility car, can they be contacted because it just seems bizarre.0 -
They are wrong to ask you for this because you won’t be driving the car. The nominated driver will need to go with you and take their driving license with them.1
