well, my 12 yr old focus has decided it wants a new clutch, have been and got quotes, decided to get it done (booked in next week) going to cost about three months pip money, in meantime as i need a car have had to hire one at more cost,  so if we say five months pip money to keep me mobile and get car fixed, if i went to motability it would have been a 3 yr contract,

    Motability isn’t for everyone and if you’re happy with your current vehicle then that’s fine. 

    As I mentioned on your other thread, I can’t fault motability at all and think it’s worth every penny. I won’t hesitate to place another order for my next vehicle at
    the end of the year.

    Plus at least 3 months PIP for the year of insurance...

    That's high insurance.  Mine was £198 last year ... increased to £270 with breakdown cover this year on a KIA C'EED GT

    Motability is a great scheme.  But not for everyone as Poppy' says.  When my wife was refused PIP after an indefinite DLA award I used my PIP Mobility to fund the above.  Six months left on finance and then it's mine with a positive equity.  But then I'm lucky to know some people who are happy to use their spanners now I can't, for a price of a drink or 3

    Yes sorry, I'd worked that out as 3 weeks worth, not 3 months.  

    If I've been counting my own Mobility allowance in months since gaining standard rate that may explain why I've now got an unexpected level of excess income.  :#
