Heya @charl1980 unfortunately most people don't automatically qualify for LCWRA, you'll need to be assessed. If you leave a note on your UC journal to ask for a WCA, that can get the ball rolling for you. Can I just ask if you're in regular contact with your GP and do they know about the self harming?

Hi I'm waiting for one as I've been forwarded that's the issue I won't get money elements as partner does but it's sending me insane and mental health is at point I'm under a adult team in local authority, when you read assessment criteria it says u auto quality for lcwra where it causes significant mental distress or harm to client, am hoping if team put in report and letter i won't have to go to a assessment just have paper based as the thought even makes me physically sick

I totally understand that worry @charl1980 it's normal to fear the unknown. I've had a WCA over the phone and it was honestly no problem. The assessor was very kind and let me take my time when I was answering and on the verge of a panic attack. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. 😊

What you’re thinking of here is substantial risk. For LCWRA what they do first is look to see if any of the descriptors apply to you, if they don’t they move onto substantial risk but it doesn’t mean you automatically qualify.

Automatically qualifying means no assessment is needed and this doesn’t apply for substantial risk.
