Advice needed
Hi,
A long story short: I moved with my parents to a new house in February. My parents, responsible for my PIP and ESA, informed those responsible, that we changed address via letter.
I was due a payment today and didn't receive it, so we called the DWP. They said that they hadn't received a change of address and therefore it was likely why the payment wasn't delivered. My Mum filled out a change of address form over the phone with a rather helpful lady and she said the payment would be sent. I was just wondering how long this usually takes? This was around 10am this morning and I am yet to receive it.
This evening we found an ESA letter which was sent to this address in March of this year, addressed to this house. Unfortunately we forgot this, this morning on the phone (I'm unsure how important this is) but my main thoughts at the moment are when I'm likely to receive the ESA payment due today? I know each case is different, but a general idea?
I'm unsure how important the fact they had sent a letter here previously but claimed today they didn't know the address is, also.
Thank you to anyone that can help with some advice or knowledge.

The 10am this morning must have been a typo because it's not 10am yet. Usually they advise anytime up to midnight for it to go into your bank. Although usually it's much quicker than that and should be in within about 4 hours.

Hi, thank you for the response!
I posted this last night but it wasn’t cleared until this morning due to me being a new member. This was yesterday (Monday). Still nothing this morning. Currently on hold to them, but feeling confused regarding why they said the address hadn’t been updated etc.

Sorry for the double post! I can’t seem to find the edit function on mobile.
If they authorised the payment yesterday morning but it wasn’t put through as a fast payment, would this then take longer than the expected “before midnight?” I was wondering whether sometimes it can take up to “x” working days, depending on how they put it through.0 -
As a new member you are unable to edits your comments. A fast payment means payment should have been in your bank account by the end of that day. (yesterday) Only BACS payments take 3-5 working days.
I haven't been active on here since this morning but hopefully you've now rang them back and have received your payment. If you haven't then you will need to ring them again.

Thanks for the reply! Do you know whether they’re usually fast payments or whether they are, unless you ask, defaults as Bacs? Seen various things from various people online about you having to ask for a FP. I’m not desperate for the payment this week, as my bills are paid and I’ve got food etc, but if there’s a chance it could have been a non-FP, I’m happy to wait and see. The 1-2hr call, even at 8am, is arduous.

When you haven't received your money on the date it should have been received then usually it's paid as a FP. All I can advise is that you contact ESA again.

Hi,
Thanks for your replies. I phoned the DWP yesterday morning who said this was down to an IT error. They had received my change of address in March, however it may not have been updated in the clerical and “higher up” department. Payment was sent Tuesday via BACS, and I received it this morning in the early hours!
