Private ed psych reports
Options
Hello, I just wondered if you / anyone knows if ed psych reports that are gained privately by parents are considered legitimate and therefore to be taken into account for EHCP purposes or if it is only ed psych reports funded by local authorities that count. Thanks

Dear Suek, I have used private EP reports for two tribunals for Statements (one whilst Home Educating), but not recently for EHCP. The EP themselves should be able to advise as well. My understanding is EP reports from LA are preferred, but if you are not in agreement then a second private opinion should carry weight, particularly if you go to a hearing/Appeal. I imagine different LAs respond differently too, depends how your relationship is with them/the school etc.
