I feel so sad

I feel tired, sad, frustrated and bored.

I have to have two machines on tonight to look at my oxygen and things. And then the exact same thing next week. As well as a vaccination, I have to dentist appointments coming up and I don't want the injection in my gum.

I just want no appointments, I want them all to leave me alone.

You doing well you have so much to deal with at the moment and you will be fine. Don't worry about the injection at the dentist I didn't even feel the last one I had . Try to think of the good things you like in your life. Happy memories of the past it really helps . You're doing fantastic.

I'm sorry to read of your frustration Sunflower.

Unfortunately sometimes such is just the way of things.

I suggest an alternative perspective please:

That monitoring your oxygen and things may hopefully lead to improvements in the quality of your life, essentially prevention is always better than a cure.

Vaccination is vastly better than risking the illnesses we vaccinate against.

Likewise accessing dental care as soon as possible can prevent considerably greater discomfort if nothing is done.

The improvements effective medical care has made to our lifespan and the quality of that life is easy to underestimate, I know.

Unfortunately discomfort in the short term is sometimes an aspect of that, as medicine works the miracles it does.

Good luck, best wishes and I hope you'll soon be on the other side of this phase of treatment, enjoying good health into the future

Hi @Littlefatfriend, thank you. I am grateful that they can do these things but I just feel so stressed and anxious about it.

All the appointments and bad days are so exhausting. I just wish I could have a break. Sometimes I feel like I want to cry for hours or just scream, I'm tired of feeling this way.

Hi @mishanko, thank you. That may help, thank you for the suggestion.

Hi @Abbie65, thank you. I try to stay positive but my life just feels rubbish and empty right now. Hoping when I move things may be a bit better.

Hi @Catherine21, I think I'm more scared of it going towards me than the pain. Do you get any pain after the injection has worn off?

I didn't used to get so anxious and upset about appointments. I think I just need a break.

    Thank you! x

    Hi Sunflowervalley

Anxiety is a challenge for most people at various stages of their lives. A surprisingly large number of people struggle with it all their lives.

It's a complicated flaw of brains and bodies that fear can control and direct our thinking, often repeatedly drawing people back to focus on things which scare them. It's a leftover from times when fears were a useful and sensible thing to have (eg the fear of fire or dangerous animals etc). Unfortunately that's basically incompatible with a modern world containing so much available information that almost anything will be frightening if we think about it for too long.

I suggest trying to distract yourself from thinking about those things. I appreciate it's not straightforward and generally requires effort but literally finding other things to think about can be a great help.

What do you enjoy doing, reading, watching (etc)?

Is there anything you're interested to learn?

When did you last write a letter?

Changing your focus is what I'm suggesting.

Please remember, soon enough you'll look back at this and it won't be frightening at all.

    Again, good luck

Okay, thank you. Did the needle look frightening when it was going into your mouth? I'm also scared that I'm going to accidentally bite the needle too.

    Hi SunflowerValley

So sorry to hear you are suffering at the moment.

I had to have s dental injection a few months ago and I didn't even see the needle as I had to turn my head the other way.

It did cause a little discomfort and I had numbness for about half an hour afterwards but honestly it was such a relief to have the procedure done and get rid of the pain.

Are you going to a sleep clinic for the oxygen or do you have the equiptment at home?

Hi @luvpink, thank you. And thank you for the information.

I have the equipment at home, I hate not sleeping with all my family. And I would never sleep if I was away from them so It's best that I do it at home so I can sleep a bit more.
