Hi, my name is amandajane1965! Lost carers element and transfer protection, any advice?
HI all I was just recently made to claim lcwra since doing so I've lost carers element and my transfer protection im now 198 pounds worse of I wasn't told I would lose any money and had I been I would not of claimed it as I'm a carer for my son I now can not afford to have heating on and have limited to one meal a day I don't have a TV as can not afford to do so think this is so wrong that they can do this if I could go out to work I really would as its getting me down and my life is worse now

There is a court case that's been held about this exact issue recently, unfortunately the outcome is not yet known

I also have to pay 77 pounds rent I've asked universal credit to contact me that was 9ver a week ago was told they would contact me on 2 separate occasions but nothing still waiting wish I could work as 600 pounds a month with having to do bill is not right I get 81.10 carers a week but universal credit are stopping 354 a month from my money because I get this yet works out I get 336 a month but yet they stop 354 a month

Carers Allowance is a weekly benefit, UC is paid monthly.
As there are 4.3 weeks in a month, monthly CA works out at £354 and this is the correct deduction.
To convert from weekly to monthly, you multiply the weekly amount by 52 (weeks) and then divide by 12 (months).

Are you renting privately? Is that why you have to pay an additional £77 towards your rent?
