LCWRA
I have just been awarded the above to much relief. My questions regarding the payment side. I have been working 16 hours per week since 2021 with fit notes to support this for claiming uc. There have been no gaps in any of the period since issued. I was sent the health assessment October 24 with a decision given today. When will the back pay go from? Can someone confirm please?

Hi @Nikita2025 and welcome. 😊
Congratulations on the LCWRA award, that must be a huge relief?
I'm afraid I'm unsure how the payments would work if you've been working during that time. But usually there'll be a full 3 payment cycle wait before you start receiving the LCWRA element and will not contain backpay, unless otherwise stated by the DWP.
The date you start receiving this will depend on when your payment day is each month. But if you can supply that details, we should be able to work out the first LCWRA payment.
Hopefully someone will be able to better clarify more for you soon. 😊0 -
3 years is a very long wait for a WCA. Were you previously awarded LCW in 2021/22? If so, then the LCWRA would only be paid from the latest assessment. A very rough estimate based on the details we have suggests that would start being paid from next month with no backpay owed.
If you really have been waiting 3 years for a WCA then it would be down to a decision maker to work out how much backpay you're entitled to.
