Is It worth calling PIP to progress chase MR?

Hi,
I sent off my letter for a mandatory consideration for PIP around the 15th November 2024, I called up the PIP line the next day to check that they had received it and they confirmed that they had. They advised me that they had manually requested the MR on the system that day to speed it up.
Is there any point in ringing PIP to ask if there is any update?

MR decisions can take anything up to 15 weeks. You can ring them anytime to ask if there's any updates. Once a decision is made you will be contacted.

Hi @natho49, welcome to the community 😊 As Poppy mentioned, MR decisions can take a while to come through. You can ring for updates to see how the process is going, but it doesn't necessarily speed anything up.

Mine was 18th Nov but for some reason they have 21st, think that's when it was all loaded on their system so roughly the same time, I'm still waiting too, I have contacted them and it's with the decision maker but I've got to wait the 15 weeks.
It's hard all this waiting!!
Good luck hope you get the result you are hoping for.

Timescales are up to 15 weeks but that doesn't mean a decision won't be made until that time, it can be made anytime.

Thank you Poppy, yeah I keep phoning and they tell me it's with the DM and to phone back after the 15 weeks if I've not heard anything. Not long now hopefully
