Hi I'm looking for advice on applying for carers allowance, I am a full time carer for my mom and we live together and she gets all the highest benefits does me applying for carers allowance effect any of her benfits

    Hi @juliem68

    From the information you have given, I doubt that applying for CA would have an impact on your mother.

    The only impact it can have, is if the claimant is receiving a 'Severe Disability Premium' on their income-replacement benefit (ESA/JSA/IS) then this is stopped by someone claiming CA. However she should not be receiving this anyway, as if you are living with another (non-disabled) adult, then the Severe Disability Premium should not be applied.
