Hi sorry I know there is a lot of post about this same situation but it's so confusing to me..

I was rewarded Lwcra on the 25th February I'm on UC and ESA but the letter doesn't state when my pay will change.. If you can help that would be great..

My first sick note was the 1st October

my AP are the 2nd to the 3rd of each month and I get paid on the 9th. So

2nd-3rd October to November

2nd-3rd November to Dec

2nd-3rd December to Jan

2nd-3rd January to Feb

Hi,

Your calculations are correct - your first LCWRA payment should have been Feb 9th so you will be owed 1 month of backpay for that.

(For future reference, the assessment period dates are reversed in your post, they should be 3rd to 2nd of each month.)

So hopefully I will get my first payment on March 9th with my usual UC payment.

I'm sure the backpay will take longer.

Haha such a dope I have dyslexia so always get words and numbers the wrong way round.. Thank you for letting me know though!

Just to check do you have any Transitional Protection on your claim, or claim with a partner who themselves gets LCWRA?

Were the Fit Notes handed in continuously, with no breaks, gaps, none that were backdated etc?

If I'm honest I've not been told or even know about a transitional protection for my claim.. If you can explain that would be great.

If you have Transitional Protection on your claim, it will be listed on your payment statements.

No there wasn't any gaps in my sick notes.

I've just checked my statements and no I don't get the Transitional protection.

I get New style ESA starting claiming that on the same date as my UC

Thank you for answering my questions.

From the information given you are eligible to be paid for the LCWRA element.

If LCWRA isn't on your next statement, that means there wasn't enough time to process the decision, and you will be owed two months.

Money owed is calculated and paid separately, this does usually take at least a few weeks.

You'll know when this has been done as a letter will be added to your Journal, confirming the amount owed. Payment will then arrive into your bank account a few working days later.

After 13 weeks at the assessment rate, New Style ESA will be upgraded to the Support Group rate of £276.40 a fortnight. They might owe you some backpayment if it's been longer than 13 weeks receiving the assessment rate.

NS ESA will be deducted in full from your UC award, £598.86.

This looks more than you receive, because ESA is a weekly benefit and there are 4.3 weeks in a month, not 4.

Hi Guys,

Thanks again for your help @OverlyAnxious and @Kimmy87 Just wanted to give you an update and incase anybody else reads my post for advice, I received another letter in my journal today like Kimmy87 said stating how much I am owed and I was told it will be paid on March 4th which is great and alot quicker then I though it would be!

My usual payment that I will be getting on March 7th has also changed it now includes the LWCRA amount. So all sorted now.
