UC assessment

Hi I had a UC phone assessment today but due to my health as I have numbness on left side the nurse the assessment will end as I need to be assessed by a neurologist and said within 2 3 days i should here from them, can anyone let me know if this is normal for the assessor to say that neurologist will assess, and will I get another phone assessment with a doctor

Hi,when I had my phone call I waited & waited for about 3 hrs after my appointment was supposed to be, only to be told when the nurse doing my assessment rang,that because it says on my medical records that I have Spina Bifida S1,she wasn't qualified to do the assessment, and they rearranged the assessment for a month later. When I got my assessment, I mentioned it to the assessor,she didn't know what I was talking about.

Just to reassure you,it didn't cause any problems with the assessment, everything went smoothly.

No, that doesn't sound normal.

I'd be surprised if a neurologist phoned you for a UC health assessment because neurologists are in extremely short supply in the NHS.

Remember it is NOT a medical assessment. The assessors do not have to be medically qualified to read out questions from a screen and click on whatever 🤔 report goes to DWP for a decision on your claim…

If you are worried about your symptoms PLEASE make an appointment with your GP or for urgent help ring 111. Only the NHS can advise on health conditions and make a diagnosis.

Hi thanks for your messages, yes that's what I thought that it's not normal to end the assessment and say I need a neurologist, many suggestions on what I can do about this will it be ok if I call the assessment team again and ask for an update.
