Hi, I'm destiny78! Will I get disabled child element back pay?

Hi I'm hoping someone can help me, I rang hmrc today about adding my other daughter on for the disabled child element, to find out my other 2 children are on the system as disabled but the disabled child element wasnt activated for them, I'm wondering as they know well my 2 child get any back pay that is due to them as they have the proof from awhile ago 2016 an 2019/2020, thank you

Have they now activated this element or have you submitted a change of circumstance? I believe it's up to a decision maker when to start the disabled child element from. However, it should usually be applied from the assessment period in which DLA was awarded. A mandatory reconsideration can be requested if this doesn't happen.

Hi cher the 2 babbys have been on the system as disabled for years an wasn't activated, just not sure what I'm suppose to do as the man I spoke to said it should of been activated but it hasn't, no changes where made I rang to add my other daughter on to find out all of this x0

Do you feel comfortable asking them if they could please activate this @destiny78? It sounds frustrating that you only found out by ringing to add your other daughter
