Hi, I applied for DLA on the 2nd of December 2022 they recieved the form on the 13th January 2022. I have recieved a letter 2 weeks ago saying a decision hasn't been made yet. Then this morning I've recieved a text message to say that a decision hasn't been made still? I'm just wondering if anyone knows the process of these messages etc how long roughly after these messages do you recieve the decision letter? Any help would be gravely appreciated

They are standard letters and texts sent to everyone as updates. It doesn't mean anything other than what they state. Is this definitely a DLA claim and not PIP? If it's DLA for your child then usually decisions are made without the need for any assessments. I have no idea on timescales i'm afraid. Once a decision is made you will be contacted.0

Yes a DLA claim for a child. Are they just standard text messages etc. I'm new to all of this, my daughter has epidermolysis bullosa. I'm just wondering if anyone has recieved a text message then recieved their award?0

They are standard tex messages sent to everyone. Once a decision is made you will be contacted. They do send text messages if successfully awarded. They do not send texts for refusals.

So they said it will be confirmed in writing could it mean she has been refused?0

No, they always send a confirmation letter, which is the decision letter. If successfully award they often send a text as well as the decision letter.

I've heard there's backlogs with DLA decisions and they are currently taking up to 16 weeks.
