Hi everyone, my daughter applied for carers allowance as she helps look after me. Was just wondering what peoples wait times have been before they have been awarded carers allowance

Usually up to about 12 weeks. Although there was a member here very recently who had a decision within 1 week. Before your daughter claimed CA did you check that it wouldn't affect any of your benefits? Which benefits are you claiming other than PIP?
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
I’m on universal credit aswell but my daughter doesn’t live with me so it shouldn’t affect that

Then it won't affect your UC. I was checking just incase you were claiming legacy benefits with the SDP included.

It was me who had the decision in a week ... still not plain sailing though ... Left Hand not talking to the Right hand and had the second ESA overpayment today. So much for it being flagged as 'urgent' 2 weeks ago to the relevant department. Even the new award letter yesterday for 2023 had the wrong payments because of it not being calculated to include CA.
They'll get there.
Good luck @MC242 -
So far I've been waiting since the start of June. After calling every week for the past month it's just been sent to a manager and been told to expect my backpay and reward letter soon. So I think they're taking a while to process claims right now. So far been almost 14 weeks for me.
