hi all, I’m new to this forum. I applied for PIP on 31st January, had my assessment on 16th March via videolink and received a copy of the assessor’s report Saturday just gone. It states I have scored 11 points on the report so does that look positive? This is my first time claiming and I got a text on Friday to say they haven’t made a decision yet.

You need 8 points for Daily Living standard and 8 points for Mobility standard award. You state you got 11 points, in which group, or are they just added up together. It's hard to say until I know what you got the points for.2

Oh sorry I got all 11 points for daily living.1

Then you have got Standard Daily Living. Bear in mind the assessment report is just a recommendation although the DM tends to go with it the majority of the time.2

I really hope so. Whether rational or not, I have this sinking feeling the DM will go against it totally although I’m guessing that’s rare? It seems a long process but compared to some I think mine has been done quite quickly? It’s nerve wracking to say the least.2

Hello @shortandsweet and a warm welcome to the community.
It is rare a decision maker goes against the recommendation so try not to worry too much about that. It's great to hear how quickly they arranged your assessment after your initial application as I know wait times have been quite high. Hopefully you're not waiting too much longer for the decision. Best of luck and please let us know how you get on.0 -
I did feel that one of the descriptors could have been marked differently but to be honest I am just grateful for any help at all so I’m not even giving it a second thought. I will certainly keep you updated as I know how reassuring these forums can be for others!3

Hi all I received the text today (14th April) to say I have been awarded PIP, such a relief!3

@shortandsweet congratulations! I bet that is such a relief.0

it really is, I just hope they keep these timelines up for anybody else who applies. Some are waiting months and my heart goes out to them! Hopefully my experience helps to give others atleast an idea of how long things are currently taking.0

Very glad to hear you were awarded @shortandsweet
Hoping it's such a relief for you. 0 -
