Hello there, could someone please help me understand the following letter.I am getting the child disability element of Universal Credit, but my son was awarded PIP at the highest level in October last year.I did not realise that I entitled to the higher premium because of this, so it was sent to Decision maker.Thankyou in advance. 0

It means exactly what it says, the decision maker has decided that special circumstances apply and you'll receive the child disabled element backdated from October assessment period. The heading of your thread mentions Enhanced disability premium (this refers to an Income Related ESA claim) but this isn't what it's called, it's the higher disabled child element which is £456.89/month (new increase) before the increase it was £414.88/month.Before they can pay what is owed they will need to recalculate your past statements to work out what you have already been paid against what you should have been paid. You will then receive the difference between the 2. Once this is done you'll receive a letter on your journal telling you how much is owed and it will then be paid into your bank.0

Oh, okay, Thankyou. The letter was posted to my journal on 4th April but I’ve only seen it today.Do you have any idea how long they take to work things out?Thanks0

Very often it can take a few weeks. If you don't receive a letter in the next week put a message on your journal under the payment section and ask about the money that's owed.
