Does anyone have any advice on this please. I was informed by PIP that my claim had been extended till 9th May 2024 so was not expecting to hear from till this time next year, but this weekend I have received the assessment forms which have to be sent back by the 9th May (2023) which is when the assessment would have been if it had not been extended. My experience with dealing with the PIP People in the past has been not a good experience, I could be very descriptive in the way I have been dealt with at face to face assessments and when speaking on the phone, I would just add there have been times when the person dealing with me has been respectful and understanding to my situation.

Your PIP award was extended for their purpose due to backlogs. This doesn’t mean you weren’t still due a review.
Even in normal times I wouldn’t expect you to be contacted next April which is 1 month before your award is due to end.You can ring to ask for an extension to return the form but it will need to be filled in and returned with all your supporting evidence. The form should be treated as a new claim and you should put as much information as possible, even if there’s been no changes.0 -
Thank you very much for your answer that's very helpful. Much appreciated from a new member.0
