Hi,does anyone know if you are a carer getting carers allowance and income support and if you receive a successful application of ADP ( new scottish pip) are you able to claim any disability premiums?

It will depend what award you have for ADP. Does it includes the daily living part?

If so for the Severe Disability Premium it will depend on who you live with? If you live with other adults then they must also be claiming a qualifying disability benefit such as PIP daily living, DLA mid/high rate care, AA or ADP daily living or be registered blind.

The disability premium of £39.85/ week single person this is automatically paid.

For the Enhanced Disability Premium it will depend what ADP award you have.

Thank you, i live alone with my child, i care for a family member who lives a couple of streets away, i have not heard back from ADP yet, i am hoping for the standard rate, i hope being a carer and trying to claim ADP won't go against me ?

Lots of people claim carers allowance and a disability benefit at the same time. Providing your caring duties do not contradict the reasons why you're claiming ADP there shouldn't be any problems.

Hi Poppy123456, i received my award letter today saying i will be getting the enhanced rates on both will this mean my carers will end ? the mobilty part is made up of mobilty and mental health.

No, Carer’s Allowance will continue as normal.

The disability premium and Enhanced disability premium should automatically be added to your IS. For the SDP you will need to ring IS to ask to apply for it. All of them should be backdated to the start of your ADP award. https://www.gov.uk/disability-premiums/eligibility
You're entitled to the Enhanced disability premium because you've been awarded Enhanced daily living.
