Hello I send a pip form away 7 weeks ago I have MS I’m 27 but I’m wondering do they sometimes not ask people to do assessment? I send 15 different letters with my form that my neurologist had send me (send copy’s of them)

Most people have assessment, which are mostly by telephone. Some are face to face and video call. Paper based assessments are rare but they do happen.

Is this a review of an existing claim or a first time claim? If it's a review then waiting times can be rather long because of the backlogs.

7 weeks isn't long at all. It could potentially be at least another 6 months, maybe longer before any decision is made.

@Hannah_Scope I just found use on google, because now my bf family is surprising with a holiday for his birthday maybe in September and they want me to go with him but I’m scared to go incase pip wants assessment at the same time and I’m not sure how I will feel at that time going on holiday also because  I don’t leave my house much and leaving my town to go away for a few days could be a lot for me because I have ms and I’m going to see my doctor on Thursday to talk about what treatment I’m going to start,

@tony70 and did they do face & face assessment on you or over the phone if you don’t mind me asking?

It's so lovely to hear you were able to find us for support :) Ooo a holiday, where are they thinking of planning it for? If your assessment date does conflict, you can call and change the assessment day.

I was housebound by my health too, so I understand that feeling of it being a lot. I really hope the GP can support you with your treatment and get you on a better path. Have you thought about asking the GP to refer you to some talking therapies? You may find it useful to speak to someone about all your worries surrounding getting out the house and the possible holiday.

How do you feel about his family planning the holiday @sarahmullan22 and the idea of asking the GP to talk to someone? We are here for you if you would like to talk to us about anything or if anything else would help. It is too easy to get yourself worked up about things  :p
