Is there something, in particular, about the PIP video assessment you are worried about at the moment @Chrissy96? Hopefully, we can help.

In the meantime, is there anything which usually helps you when you are feeling panicked/hysterical?  :)

Hi Chrissy I've just had mine , it's fairly straight forward but don't fall for their tricks ,  they'll try to get you to relax and and smile and joke with them , they will be monitering  how you look and you mood .  So don't be their friend , be professional and stone faced and don t laugh with their jokes.

    Hello @Chrissy96

    Welcome to the community! :)

I know the process can seem daunting. You are allowed to have someone in the room with you, if that makes you feel at ease.

My lady was crafty, she asked if i could follow a journey and plan it. I said no as i wont leave the house without my mum, but then she said, yes but could you plan it? I said i could put a postcode in sat nav but but i wouldn’t leave house without my mum. But she scored me nil as she tricked me into saying i can put a postcode in sat nav!!! So wrong
just because i can use a satnav i cant go out alone

A satnav isn't classed as a aid for following and planning a journey unless it's been designed for use by a disabled person.

Telling them you won't leave the house alone without your mum isn't enough, you need to tell them why you can't do this and what happened the last time you attempted to leave the house alone.

Have you had the decision yet?

@poppy123456 i told her i have anxiety/panic attacks when attempting to leave the house and have missed doctor appointments due to it so nost if my appointments are via phone call
ive not been to dentist or hairdresser for years which i also said
Stated told her my mum encourages me to try a small walk which sometimes i can go on depending on day (but rarely) and it’s always with my mum but shes wrote that i go alone 3 times a week which is incorrect

Hi everyone, firstly thankyou for your input its been an  eye-opening, my video assessment is looming! Ive had pretty bad experiences with pip assessment's.
    They do lie.
    Change your answers.
    Ive won tribunal's
They said i was over weight! Im small!
Even if i was over weight, i may have an eating disorder.
Scary what they seem to be allowed to do, and say. They twist and cleverly change your answers.
I had a dwp representative fill my AR2 form in for me, i told her the horrible experiences I've had to deal with and the lies! She assured me they have changed their ways.
    I live in hope.
    Thankyou

Your award could have decreased. Once you know what the decision is you can request the MR. I see you've been to Tribunal before so the process for challenging the decision is the same as it was the previous time.

You should put the request in writing stating where and why you think you should have scored those points.

If you didn't include a couple of real world examples of exactly what happened the last time you attempted each descriptor that applies when you filling in the form you filled in then you should do that now. You should also add detailed information such as, where you were, what exactly happened, did anyone see it and what the consequences were.

    Hi poppy,
Thank you for taking the time to message, i got half my money, I'm on standard rate pip, it looks like they made their decision two weeks ago and I'm yet to receive the doomed letter! I'm new to the northeast, i had a welfare officer from the irish forum looking after me when I lived in Bedfordshire. Now im stranded up north without support.
    Thankyou 😞

You have 13 months to request the MR. If you're outside of the 1 month timeframe you must give a reason why you're late requesting it. If they refuse you just proceed to Tribunal.

As advised above, you should put the request in writing and do not ring to request it. MR decision timescales are up to about 12 weeks. Most decisions remain the same as only 23% of them change in the claimants favour. Much more chance at Tribunal stage if you either appear in person or have a telephone/video hearing.

https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/sick-or-disabled-people-and-carers/pip/appeals/mandatory-reconsideration-pip/ In this link there's a also a form you can download and print for the MR request. Or you can just write a letter.
