hello everyone, pls i just want to make an enquiry about council tax, am on lcwra, and am  only paying  22 pounds monthly on my council tax, but i just received a letter that i will be paying 65 pounds monthly now, infact i dont know how to cope because of other bills i have to pay, pls i want to know if its affect everybody or only me, pls i will be expecting your reply, thank you guys.

    Council Tax benefits are decided on a local level, are you comfortable disclosing which local authority you live under?

    Does the letter give a reason for the increase? 

    You could maybe phone them and ask them to explain why it's gone up so much, it could be they've changed their criteria or something as simple as an admin error.

    kimmy87, tanx so much for your reply, i live in Preston, i have to call them on monday to ask why, i never thought about calling until you raised it, thank so much

    kimmy87, no they never said why they are increasing, they just sent a letter of what i will be paying now,
