I’ve recently been served a section 21 notice I’m so scared because my family of 4 are going to be homeless I don’t know what to do. I need some advice!
Last year I’ve got diagnosed with fibromyalgia, I had to go from full time work to casual as I have good days and bad days so if I’m having a good day I work, I’m lucky to work 12 hours a week. My husband is self-employed.

First you need to make sure the S21 is valid. Details here. https://england.shelter.org.uk/housing_advice/eviction/section_21_eviction/how_to_check_a_section_21_notice_is_validAlthough the S21 says 2 months to move out, you do not need to move out within that time, if you have no where else to live. Your landlord can't evict you, only a court can do that.I'd advise you to get some expert advice by contacting shelter and they will give you all the advice you need. https://www.shelter.org.uk/A PIP claim can take anything up to about 6 months, possibly longer.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
6 months oh well great that won’t save us yet then 😞
thank you for your support I will contact shelter -
@Preston06 I'm so sorry to hear that you are going through a tough situation. Shelter are a great charity to contact like Poppy suggested. Citizen's Advice also has a lot of information if you have any other queries.Hannah - She / Her
