Hi if my mobility award if from January does that mean I can ask for a refund for the tax I have paid this year on my own car not a mobility car or is it only for the cars they provide?

I can't be 100% certain @madee93 but I believe they only cover tax with Motability vehicles, not your own car.

It can be backdated. You will need to take all your documents to your local post office, including your certificate of entitlement (not the PIP award letter itself)The vehicle can only be used for your purpose only.
