I recently looked at a car on the motorbility Scheme
I don’t drive myself & therefore added 2 named Drivers.
I was told I’d get a phone call from the Scheme to ask me some questions regarding the added drivers. As they don’t live with me. They also mentioned a tracking device could be fitted to a new vehicle.
Is this a normal procedure

Ye, it's normal, they may fit a tracker to your vehicle if the named drivers do not live at your address. If they do decide to fit one they will contact you first. See link. https://www.motability.co.uk/get-support/faqs/what-are-location-trackers/

They may also want to speak to the named drivers too. When I had my first motability vehicle my elder daughter was a named driver and didn’t live with me. They wanted to speak to her before they would add her. There was no tracker fitted to the car because she had her own car.0
