Hi,
I had my first review letter come through in July 2021. The questionnaire was filled out and sent back two days later. I got a text message from DWP saying they’d gotten the form back and would start processing it. I still get paid whilst the review is being processed but it’s now been two years since sending the form back.

In January, Capita wrote to my gp to fill out a form, I then got a text and letter saying DWP now have all the evidence needed to make a decision and would hear within 6 weeks. It’s been 6 months.
I didn’t have an assessment from capita, they just wrote to my gp. Has anyone else had an issue with reviews or not having an assessment, and what does it mean if you don’t get an assessment?
Thank you.

If no asssessment was needed it means you've had a paper based assessment. If they contacted you in January saying they have all the information needed then 6 months is a long time to wait. Have you rang PIP to ask for an update?

Hi Poppy,
Do you know what the difference between a paper assessment and a normal assessment is? I’ve rang them a few
times and told it’s with a case manager. However, I rang today after reading your comment and was told the case manager had closed the task without putting a decision in so my review has just been sat there. The lady I spoke with confirmed they’d made a mistake and as the other gentleman had closed the task it wasn’t on a ‘to do’ list so would have not been looked at again if I hadn’t rang and asked them today.Thank you.0 -
As I advised a paper based assessment is when no actual assessment is needed. If an assessment is needed then it will be either telephone, video or face to face.0
