I don’t really know which group I should be putting tbis in so I’d thought I’d share here. I’m 42 years old and have never and the chance to become a mum, my first husband had problems after having mumps when he was a child and then he became poorly and unfortunately passed away in 2011. I met someone else in 2019 I knew has 4 kids already from a previous marriage but then after getting into a relationship with him found out that he’d had a vasectomy in 2008 at first it wasn’t something that bothered me. Now I’m tested for being perimenopausal and it’s me like a ton of bricks that I’ll never get the chance to become a mum and I’m not going to lie it hurts really bad .

Hi @Emeraldgem sorry to read about your story, with your first husband and you not having children.  I can understand that you feel upset by this. The only option i can think of is IVF which is costly and not guaranteed. Or adoption

@Emeraldgem I'm so sorry to hear that you are going through tests for perimenopause. There is this great charity called the Menopause Café and they have an Online event coming up in September. There are other events but I remember you said you prefer forums and online things.

I'm so sorry that you feel it is taking that chance. Did you speak to your GP a lot about it? If not it may be worth another appointment so you have all the information in front of you.
