Dla- birth verification

I have tried to claim for Dla for my child I haven’t had a decisions but they are requesting I send original birth certificates.
Do you know why this might be?

According to Turn2Us webpage this is a form of proof that can be asked for:You should give your national insurance number. If you do not have a national insurance number, send in the claim form anyway to save delays. You may also be asked for proof of your identity such as a birth certificate, passport or driving license.You can request a birth certificate online through the GOV website if you didn't want to send your only copy.0
