I have pip higher rate mobility and a blue badge but i’m looking to change my car tax to that of exempt so i can then later register it as exempt from the congestion charge and ulez etc.
I’m finding it hard finding the correct information though. I read online i go into the post office with the log book, mot and some kind of proof of receiving the required benefits, however when i went in there and tried it they were adamant that i needed a ‘certificate of entitlement’ that i would get if i rang the DWP, but having rung them i think they’re just going to send me my pip statement, so I’m really confused about what i need and how i do this

You were informed correctly. You need the ceritificate of entitlement (not the PIP award letter) to claim for free road tax. (VED)When you ring PIP this is what you need to ask then to send you. Once you have that you'll need to take this and all other documents to your local post office. Full details here. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1143399/ins216-how-to-apply-for-free-disabled-tax-pdf.pdfDo be aware that the vehicle can only be used for your purpose.
