Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to give a quick update. I had my video tribunal on 16.08.23 and was awarded standard daily living 11 points and enhanced mobility 12 points. This was from my original decision by DWP of 5 points daily living and 0 mobility.

The process was daunting but the result far out ways that. From start of my claim to my tribunal took 58 weeks. Obviously this will differ for other areas of the country.
I found the panel to be friendly and they did put me at my ease. They explained everything clearly from the start and asked questions mainly to clarify certain points I was appealing against. They were ‘no nonsense’ in their approach and gave clear instructions how they wanted me to answer. To be honest, I was surprised they did not ask me more than they did. In total that part lasted approximately 35-40 minutes. My hearing was at 3.15pm so I did not expect to be told on the day, however I was asked to wait in the holding area and within no more than 5/6 minutes they can back with the decision.
If you are thinking of not appealing as I was many times, you have absolutely nothing to lose and an awful lot you could gain so stick with it. I almost gave up a few times!
Many thanks to those on this forum whose advice and experience has been invaluable.
Best wishes to everyone going through the same process x

Congratulations @julie3d! I’ve got a tribunal coming up in the next few weeks, little insights like these are really helpful. Can I just ask, did they focus on specific descriptors you were challenging, or on your case as a whole?1

Thanks for this post @julie3d. It's great to hear about the wins, especially as most people coming here are so worried about how their assessment or tribunal is going to go. Really appreciate it and congratulations1
