Hi. I’m mum to 3, aged 35, 32 and 17. Youngest just been diagnosed autistic. I’m just trying to deal with the fall out of a newly diagnosed 17 year old. It’s hard for her to get her head around and i want to support her in a way that’s suitable for her age. (Basically she doesn’t necessarily want input from me!).

Hello @MandyE
Welcome to the community!
Have you thought about reaching out to the National Autistic Society? They have lots of information pages. I'd also encourage your 17 year old to look at the Autistic Girls Network. They have lots of resources for her0 -
HI @MandyE I am 60, had a provisional diagnosis at 25, but was only formally diagnosed with Autism a year ago. It's a lot to take in.
There are some good books on Amazon, but getting a hold of your local Autism group is a great idea- there will be support for you and your daughter. If she is in college they might help as well.
Sorry for things being topsy turvey, I've heard good feedback on this book, if she's the read-a-book type- https://www.amazon.co.uk/Awesome-Autistic-Go-Guide-Practical-ebook/dp/B085423432/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=1JQ09EQGGNLN5&keywords=autism+teenage+girls&qid=1693981692&sprefix=autism+teen,aps,93&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1
Apparently, it's pretty insightful, informative, and upbeat.
