Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help. I applied for pip in May and had a telephone assessment couple of week ago which I am still waiting for a decision on. In the meantime I have received my report and received 10 points for daily and 0 points for mobility. The mobility I agree with but the daily I should have at least another 4 points and some of the reports contradict herself. Do I have to wait until I receive my final decision or can I call up to let them know.

Hi @wereallhere - if you call the DWP, then this could start the Mandatory Reconsideration (MR) process off, where another decision maker will look at everything again. If you're not happy with the daily living component, then you could start thinking about what you'd like to write instead, but you'll need to wait for your decision letter before you can send your MR off. Remember the assessor's report is just a recommendation, tho a decision maker usually goes along with it.
Remember PIP is about how you are the majority of the time. It really is best to put your MR in writing, ensuring you put your name & National Insurance number on each page.
Try & put the assessment report behind you & concentrate instead on where you think you should have gained points, & why, giving a couple of recent, detailed examples as to the difficulty you face for each applicable activity/descriptor, i.e. when did it happen, where, what happened, did anyone see this, & were there any consequences to attempting/doing an activity?
Say if you can't do an activity 'reliably,' i.e. safely, to an acceptable standard, repeat as often as one would reasonably expect, or if it takes you much longer than someone without a disability.
You can get a free Certificate of Posting from your Post Office when sending it off having kept a copy of your letter.

I've nothing better to add that has not already been said. I hope, whatever the decision letter says, that you eventually get what you're fully entitled to @wereallhere. I hope the MR is successful if the decision does indeed follow the mistaken report.

Keep us updated with how you do!
