Need help with aiding toilet use

Hi, about 4 months ago I was taken into A & E with spinal problems, leaving me unable to walk. It is now apparent that I am going to be confined to a wheelchair. I am currently in hospital awaiting discharge to a suitable property which has or can be adapted. I have realised that I will have to make many adjustments, mostly as I encounter them on a daily basis. The main obstacle I have encountered which has proven to be impossible is removing my trousers and underwear to use the toilet. As I cannot stand I am unable to raise myself up enough to remove these items.
Any advice please
Thanks

Hi @maxgarry, I'm sorry to hear you've had a really difficult 4 months. Hopefully we can help you get sorted and find something to aid you.
While I do not have the knowledge just now I will have a look around while giving our community a chance to share any knowledge they have
Can I ask, have you spoken to any healthcare professional about aids and equipment at all? Like an Occupational Therapist? Ask about aids and equipment | Disability charity Scope UK This link has some information about who to speak to when it comes to aids and equipment. There is a link to the gov.uk site about getting a needs assessment done, have you had one done yet?0
