Hi all. I’m a retired social worker and the grandfather of a boy who has autism, OCD and general anxiety disorder. He has DLA but is approaching 16 and is being transferred to PiP. Like a lot of others he has had his childhood stolen by these conditions. Probably looking for assistance with Appointeeship application and then PiP application.
Take care everyone and thank you all in advance.

Hi @daggersborn, welcome to our online community. Sorry to hear about the problems your grandson has and is facing. I struggled a lot with depression and anxiety due to my, unknown until adulthood, ADHD.
Scope does have an advice page on many of the changes from the child system to the adult system. It covers quite a range of topics, not all may apply to you and your grandsons situation! If you're only interested in appointeeship there is a link at the bottom which I'll also link here. I recommend reading through the full advice page though incase there's perhaps something you've not considered or missed out on.
On the subject of applying for PIP, Scope has an advice page on it here.
I'm also going to link the Citizen's Advice page on how to fill in the PIP form, as I think it's quite helpful. I used it myself when filling out mine.
Let us know if you, or your grandson, have any further questions. We're here for you0 -
Thank you for that information, Jimm. I’ll check it all out and I’m sure it will be helpful. Pleased that you’re here for us, too.0
