Hello, I'm new. I never join forums so I hope I'm doing this correctly!

I have been lurking/reading post on here for a while and it seems like a lovely supportive community. I just wanted to post my PIP timeline to get some advice or to see if anybody has experienced the same, I hope this helps for anyone too.

Applied for pip - 17th August 2023.

DWP text - Thanks for applying -17th.
(Same text the next morning)

DWP text - we haven't received your form - 5th September.

DWP text - Thanks for sending us your form - 19th September

PIP text - Hello from independent assessment services - 19th September (21:53)

DWP text - A health care professional is looking at your claim - 18th October

PIP text - Telephone assesment booked for 8th November

No texts at all after this, it's been 15 days since assessment. Rang up today (was worried I would sound like a pain, but it just seems like so many people get a 'we have received the report' so quickly)

The man was lovely, he said my report hasn't been recieved yet and they are making amendments? But I should receive a text soon 😑 Wasn't sure what amendments they would be doing

Anyway, thank you advance 😊

Sounds like your report has been chosen for audit. It’s nothing for you to worry about. It means they are checking the assessor did their job correctly. Once it’s completed it will be returned to DWP.

The only annoying thing is that there’s no timescales how long the audit will take.

Once it’s returned a decision can take up to 12 weeks.

Yeah I was waiting for the guy to say it's in audit but nope.
So it just got me overthinking a little! I should have asked that question to him but I can't think clearly when I'm on the phone
    Thank you 😊

If it was PIP you rang then they wouldn't know if it's in audit. The only ones that can tell you that is the assessment providers,  you can ring them to ask.

About your PIP review. The health professional has sent us their report.
We will make a decision on your PIP, but it may take 6 weeks before you hear from us.
You will continue to get PIP while your award is being reviewed.
You only need to contact us if your circumstances change. I recieved this 10 days ago

    Thank you 😊
I called the number where you press 1 2 and 6 is there a different number to call to check if it's in audit?
I will update soon as I can

Sounds like you rang the PIP helpline. It will be the health assessment providers you need ring. It will either be Capita or Independent Assessment Services, depending on which area you live.

    UPDATE -
I recieved a text from DWP on the 27th November saying they had received my report.

I followed up I think 1 day later and asked for a copy of my report.
It arrived this morning and I'm so relieved.
I have added up the descriptors and assessor has recommended 13 points for daily living and 10 for mobility.
    Still awaiting final decision.

I applied for pip due to OCD & Anxiety

Can you tell me what treatment you have received for anxiety and OCD and what evidence you provided?

Having read some of the refusal letters if they consider your anxiety as low level/no special intervention you are refused.

I have had CBT many years ago. On and off meds which isn't working for me and side effects.

Do you need to be referred to a mental health professional to be considered significant? My GP is reluctant in doing this. I have 3-4 GP's in my surgery and the one I end up seeing doesn't take me seriously.

Hi, I'm not sure how to tag just yet!

I've had anxiety for years, ever since I can remember really and OCD started very young maybe 10/11.

I've bee to doctors before years ago but nothing really happened I just got prescribed medication (couldn't handle the side effects) I went to my GP in July this year and said that I really wasn't coping anymore and enough was enough. She referred me to a mental health nurse at that appointment and I have been seeing the nurse since August. Prescribed medication .. again they seem to make me feel absolutely terrible no over reaction I can't get past the sickness.

The only evidence I had was my CBT therapy letter on the waiting list. And a letter written by the mental health nurse. Filled the form out myself.
Your GP doesn't seem to be taking you seriously at all! And if anxiety is effecting you everyday and stopping you living normally I would suggest going back, pointing out just how much your struggling and that you need some proper help.

I don't think you need to be reffered to be eligible for pip at all as it's how your anxiety effects YOU in every day life, but I expect it would go in your favour.
I really hope you get the help you need. Push for it 🙂

    You need to ring PIP,

    Personal Independence Payment (PIP)

    Telephone: 0800 121 4433
    Textphone: 0800 121 4493
Relay UK (if you cannot hear or speak on the phone): 18001 then 0800 121 4433
British Sign Language (BSL) video relay service if you’re on a computer - find out how to use the service on mobile or tablet
Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

Please note that the report is not the decision, it’s a recommendation only. Whilst they mostly go with the report, it has been known for them to go against it.
