I work for the civil service and have recently been given a terminal cancer diagnosis. I have applied for ill health retirement but have seen on here that it can take over a year which is time I havent got. Can this be done quicker and how soon is it paid out as I need to put things in place for my children

Hi there @Misprint01 and welcome to the community.
I'm so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. If you need to talk about things, please don't feel shy.
As for the ill health retirement information, I'm not 100% on this, but hopefully one of our super smart regulars will be able to help out?
I've moved your post to a different category so more people in the know will be able to see it. Hope that's ok.0 -
Thanks Scott, that much appreciated. Do you have any idea of how they calculate the enhanced pension and if it's paid in a lump sum?
