Hi I am so scared. I've never been asked for an assessment since I have been on DLA then PIP and I have just received a text from independent assessment services. Does this mean I will definitely have to have a consultation. I just can't do it it paralysed me with me fear when I got this text.
Pls can anyone help

What did the text say exactly? Most people have assessments which are mostly by telephone. Some are still face to face or video call.

Hi @carys, welcome to our community. I know assessments can be really stressful to think about and go through, but you can always have support. Many are over the phone, few are face to face anymore.
Do you have anyone who can help you through any potential assessment? A family member or friend?0 -
Even over the phone terrifies me, maybe even more so. Severe anxiety is a bit part of my conditions and so I can't speak a lot of the time when faced with things like this .

If over the phone is even worse than face to face or video you can speak to the Independent Assessment Service on what would be best for you.
Is it possible someone can contact them on your behalf and explain your situation?0 -
Yes I think the lady who filmed in the pip form me could do that. Thank you
