Hi, I'm Westy! How do I handle my uncle's care home not taking him back after being in hospital?

I am concerned about my uncle who is self funding in a care home and was recently admitted to hospital and his care home have assessed him and are saying they are not sure they can take him back. He was immobile before he went into hospital therefore I am unsure why they should say that and how to deal with it.

Hi @Westy   welcome to the forum
 it is common for a home to do this when someone goes into hospital. It depends if a person's needs have changed and if they can meet those needs that a person might need. As of yet they haven't said no. Which is a positive. Hopefully you will get their decision soon.

Hi @Westy, welcome to the community. Sorry to hear your uncle has been in hospital. 

As Sandy mentioned, perhaps they are just considering whether his needs have changed. Have they definitely said he can't come back or are they looking for some more information first?

Thanks for your replies, the care home are carrying out a second assessment of his needs, he may be moved to another suite.
